York Hall contest a ‘dream’ for unbeaten prospect Caswell

FEATHERWEIGHT Robert Caswell says it is a dream come true to be boxing at London’s iconic York Hall in his next bout.

The Chatham prospect, who has a record of 4-0 since making his debut in November last year, is set to feature on Neilson Boxing’s show at the capital on Saturday 5th November.

After making a faultless start to his career, the 21-year-old will join an illustrious list of boxers who have fought at the London venue, including former world champions David Haye, Carl Froch and Tyson Fury among others.

Talking ahead of his bout, Caswell says it has always been an aspiration of his to fight at York Hall and is one that dates back to his days as an amateur.

“I’m really looking forward to fighting at York Hall, for me it is bucket list stuff because when I turned professional I always said to my coach and my manager that I wanted to box there,” he said.

“Now that it is coming around it is really exciting because of all the history that comes with it – to box at a place where all the greats have boxed is quality.

“I’ve been there to watch my team mate Dan Morley and the atmosphere was mental. It feels like everyone is on top of you so it’s a great venue to watch boxing at too.”

Despite his professional career being just under a year old, Caswell, who will have just under 100 fans watching him at the weekend, says he is looking forward to making the most of his momentum.

The 21-year-old also believes the environment that he trains in will pay dividends as he reveals he frequently trains alongside the likes of Germaine Brown, Mick Conlan and Harlem Eubank.

“I train with Germaine a lot. We are based down at the Boxing Booth Gym so have Adam Booth, Mick Conlan and Josh Kelly there too,” he added.

“When you’re starting out and you’re training alongside people like that it is only going to improve you and it means there is lots of good sparring too.

“After my sessions I’d often just sit and watch the other guys train and soak in what they’re doing.”

Caswell joins a host of unbeaten fighters on the card, such as Louis Horn, Hannah Baggaley, Johnny Ward and fellow Kent-based fighter Jake Henty.
